John Helms has a rich and diverse work experience spanning over several decades. John began their career in 1984 as a Sales Account Executive at Equifax and stayed with the company until 1992. From there, they joined Acxiom as a Sales Executive and held the position until 1996 at which point they moved to First Union National Bank as the VP/Direct Mail Manager until 1999. In 2000, John became the Area Director at Consumer Credit Counseling Service of VA and remained in that role until 2002 when they transitioned to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association as a Direct Mail Research Analyst. In 2004, they joined HSBC as the Manager of Credit Policy/Risk and worked there until 2007. John then joined First Tennessee Bank as a Credit Risk Analyst and stayed with the company until 2013. From 2013 to 2017, they served as a Senior Risk Officer at BBVA Compass. Next, John took on the role of Chief Marketing Officer at Solutions Finance from 2017 to 2019. Currently, they are employed as a Credit Risk Analyst at Evolve Bank & Trust since December 2021. John's extensive work experience showcases their expertise in various roles within the financial sector.

John Helms obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a major in Marketing from Western Carolina University, where they studied from 1980 to 1983. Prior to that, they attended Wingate University from 1979 to 1980, studying Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services, but did not obtain a degree from there. In terms of additional certifications, John received a certification in Big Data Foundations from IBM in January 2016.
