Corey K Smith, MD, FACEP has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Currently, they serve as a Physician Consultant/Coach at Capital Health (US). In 2021, they became an Advisory Board Member for the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Advisory Council at Syneos Health, where they contribute strategic counsel and insight on healthcare issues for under-served communities. Dr. Smith also holds the position of Medical Director at Evolve Med Spa and is the Founder of Success In Science, LLC. Corey K previously worked as Department Chair and Medical Director of Emergency Medicine at Summit Health from 2013 to 2022. Furthermore, Dr. Smith has contributed to the community by serving as the Commissioner of the Economic Development Commission for the Township of West Orange in 2021. Corey K has also been a member of the Board of Directors for NJ-ACEP from 2009 to 2015. Prior to that, they worked as an Emergency Medicine Physician and Associate Director of Operational and Service Excellence at EmCare from 2005 to 2015. Dr. Smith has also served as a Ringside Physician for the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board from 2007 to 2010 and as a Medical Director for USA Boxing, Inc New Jersey Chapter from 2005 to 2010.

Corey K Smith, MD, FACEP received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology, General from Rutgers University in 1998. Corey K then went on to attend Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and earned their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 2002. Subsequently, they completed their Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center from 2002 to 2005.

In terms of additional certifications, Dr. Smith obtained their Emergency Medicine Certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine in December 2016. Corey K also completed the Urgent Care Management Certificate from the Urgent Care Association in March 2018. Dr. Smith further expanded their knowledge by completing the Summit Medical Group Strategic Leadership Program at NYU Stern School of Business in December 2019. Most recently, they acquired a Mini-MBA in Healthcare Management from Rutgers Business School in January 2022.
