Lisa Ibberson's work experience includes various roles in the scientific and engineering fields.
Lisa started their career as a Physicist at ELAM-T, where they worked from October 2001 to March 2002.
From there, they joined Plastic Logic as a Senior Engineer from March 2002 to September 2004. Their work involved research and development of flexible organic electronic displays, including collaborating with international materials suppliers.
After that, Lisa worked at Cambridge Consultants as a Senior Engineer in the Sensing Systems Group from July 2008 to July 2011. During this time, they played a key role in designing and developing sensors for the Defence and Security sector, as well as consumer and medical products. Lisa also mentored students and assisted in recruitment.
Following their role at Cambridge Consultants, Lisa worked as a Technical Consultant at Ibberson Electronics Ltd from July 2011 to July 2013. Lisa provided technical consultancy services to various scientific, instrumentation, and engineering companies. Lisa was also the project manager for a print quality sensor for Videojet, which became integrated into their IAssure printer range.
In 2013, Lisa joined Hitachi Cambridge Laboratory as a Senior Research Scientist. Based at the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge, their work focused on investigating the use of silicon CMOS transistors for quantum computing applications. Lisa collaborated with colleagues from Hitachi, research institutes, and universities worldwide. Their responsibilities included developing novel measurement techniques, supervising students, fabricating superconducting devices, and performing electrical measurements in the lab.
Most recently, Lisa joined Evonetix Ltd in 2020 as a Senior Scientist. Lisa initially worked in the Physics group, contributing multidisciplinary work in the lab to support scientists across the company in utilizing the novel silicon array for DNA synthesis. In 2022, they formed the Integration team as the Group Head of Integration. Their role involves leadership, people development, lab work, and project management. Lisa focuses on minimizing barriers between engineering and science and managing interactions within Evonetix's proprietary DNA synthesis technology. Lisa utilizes their strong communication skills and broad science and engineering experience in this role.
Lisa Ibberson pursued their education in a chronological manner. Starting from 1997 to 2001, they attended the University of Exeter, where they obtained a degree in MPhys, specializing in Physics. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Cambridge in 2004 and completed their PhD in Nanoelectronics and Quantum Computation at the Cavendish Laboratory.
