Andreas Bremges is currently the Head of Translational Systems Biology at Evonik, where they develop efficient methods and algorithms for biological sequence analysis. With past positions including Project Manager in Bioinformatics at the German Center for Infection Research and Team Lead in Metagenomics at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, they have significant expertise in studying microbial communities from complex environments. They also served as an Affiliate Scientist at the U.S. Department of Energy Joint Genome Institute. Andreas holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Biotechnology, a Master of Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics and Genome Research from Universität Bielefeld, along with experience in the Erasmus Programme at the University of Helsinki.
