Joaquim Thomaz de Melo

Joaquim Thomaz de Melo has extensive experience in the chemical and polymer industries, currently serving as Vice President & General Manager for the Americas at Evonik since August 2011, overseeing high-performance polymers. Joaquim has held various leadership roles at Evonik, including VP of Coating & Adhesive Resins and Director of Sales, focusing on market intelligence, strategy, and business development across North and South America. Prior to Evonik, Joaquim was a Key Account Manager at The Dow Chemical Company and held several positions at Evonik Degussa GmbH, managing product lines in technical rubber and coatings. Joaquim began a career in the industry with roles at Sadia and DuPont after earning a Chemical Engineering degree from Universidade de São Paulo, followed by an MBA from Ibmec and marketing education at Mannheim Business School.
