Ina Sternberger has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on in vitro biology and drug development. Ina started their career as a PhD student at Cancer Research UK, where they assessed the molecular mechanism of clathrin coat formation in neuroendocrine cells. Ina then worked as a postdoc at Aventis Pharma before joining Keyneurotek as a Scientist, where they developed an ex vivo tauopathy model in organotypic brain slice cultures.
In 2008, Ina joined Evotec as a Senior Research Scientist, where they served as a project manager in preclinical drug development. Ina'sexpertise included high content screening, primary cell culture, cellular assay development, and high throughput screening. Ina gradually progressed within the company, becoming Vice President of In vitro pharmacology and later the Group Leader in vitro pharmacology.
In 2018, Ina was promoted to the role of Senior Vice President of In vitro Biology at Evotec, where they headed the In vitro Biology Division. Ina'sresponsibilities included managing the In vitro Pharmacology, Huntington's research and Translational Sciences, and High content imaging and analysis departments. In 2019, they took on the role of Senior Vice President In vitro Biology and became the site head at Evotec's HQ in Hamburg, where they managed the site's operations and support functions and led the conceptual design of a new laboratory building.
