Olesya Afanasyeva

Olesya Afanasyeva was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in February 2021 leading the company's finance, treasury, tax, and information technology functions, and activities across North America.

Joining EVRAZ in 2004, Afanasyeva served as manager of international financial reporting and later, a senior manager on the financial reporting team based in Regina. With increasing responsibility across the EVRAZ North America finance function, she most recently served as vice president of finance, leading the financial reporting, accounting, and transitional services teams across North America. In 2020, she assumed the role of interim chief financial officer.

Based in Calgary, Afanasyeva holds a degree in management and economics. She is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and is a certified corporate FP&A professional with the Association of Financial Professionals.
