David Gilmore

Senior Software Engineer at Exacom, Inc.

David Gilmore has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Starting their career in the U.S. Army as a Specialist, they worked as a Programmer Analyst, analyzing requirements and drafting proposals for an online interactive system for the U.S. Army. After transitioning to the role of Systems Administrator as a Sergeant in the Army, they gained experience in managing and maintaining computer systems.

Upon leaving the Army, Gilmore worked as a Software Engineer and Applications Developer at PRC, where they contributed to system architecture analysis and legacy integration solutions for LAN/WAN connectivity. David also attended payment technology meetings, providing input on topics such as secure electronic transactions and internet commerce.

Moving on, Gilmore joined PRC, USPS Headquarters as a Principal Engineer, where they analyzed system architecture and legacy integration issues. David worked on various aspects of debit/credit card processing, transaction routing, and hub security, collaborating with individuals nationwide.

Gilmore then transitioned to Highland Technology Services, Inc, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer for over a decade. David played a crucial role in architecting, implementing, and maintaining automated data management applications for different Offices of the Department of Energy. This involved using technologies such as Java, XPages, object-oriented JavaScript, LotusScript, and C++. David also provided architecture consulting, system integration, and maintenance support.

After their tenure at Highland, Gilmore worked at Archon Development Corp, initially as a Front End Developer and later as a System Architect and Lead Developer. David was responsible for managing all software aspects of the Prophet mystery shopping Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) web application. David also restructured the system to increase concurrency, reduce long-running background process time, and save licensing fees.

In their most recent role as a Senior Software Engineer at Exacom, Inc., Gilmore designed, implemented, and supported new functionality for the HindSight™ client-server based digital recording suite. This software is widely used by various organizations, including fire, police, rescue, and the military.

Throughout their career, Gilmore has honed their skills in various programming languages and technologies and has worked on multiple projects, contributing significantly to system architecture, implementation, and maintenance.
