Carolyn Hutcheon

Carolyn Hutcheon is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in molecular biology and Next Generation Sequencing technologies. Currently at Exact Sciences since August 2019, Carolyn has developed and enhanced assays for liquid biopsy cancer diagnostics, demonstrating significant improvements in diagnostic sensitivity. Prior experience includes roles at Covance as a Staff Scientist, where Carolyn developed SNP and methylation assays and presented findings to clients, and as a Research Associate at the Institute for Systems Biology, focusing on innate immune response pathways. Earlier positions include managing construct development for crops at Targeted Growth and evaluating vaccine adjuvants at ID Biomedical. Carolyn holds a Master’s degree in Biology from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor's degree in Cell and Developmental Biology from The University of British Columbia.
