Irene K.

Irene K. has a diverse work experience starting from 2007. In 2007, they worked as a Research Associate at VRSENSE S.A. for a year. Irene then joined Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as a Research Associate in 2005, working on the energy-efficient design of Wireless Sensor Networks until 2008. In 2009, Irene became a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Information Technologies Institute (ITI), participating in EU funded research projects related to disaster mitigation and authentication. Irene continued their research career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Macedonia from 2012 to 2015, leading a research project on secure routing in Wireless Sensor Network Critical Infrastructures. Irene also worked as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Western Macedonia from 2013 to 2016, teaching courses on computer networks and telecommunications. In 2015, they joined CyberLens LTD as the Chief Technology Officer. Most recently, Irene worked at Exalens where they held multiple roles. Irene first served as the Head of EU Projects from 2018 to 2022, and later became the Chief Scientific Officer.

Irene K. has a strong education history in the field of Electrical & Computer Engineering. Irene completed their Ph.D. at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace - (D.U.Th.) between 2000 and 2005. Irene later expanded their knowledge by pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Business Administration from Blekinge Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2012.
