Web Begole

Web Begole is the Chief Technology Officer at Exante Data. Prior to this, they were the Co-Founder and CTO of MarketReader, a market intelligence company that empowers all investors to understand why the market is moving in real time. Web has also held various other positions at Exante Data over the past 6 years and 7 months, including Chief Technology Advisor, Head of Information Technology, and Chief Technology Officer. In these roles, they have provided tech strategy around current and future needs, supported and guided technical team growth, and provided support and mentorship to data scientists and developers. Web has also owned all technology functions for the company, including the development of back-end automated processors for data input from vendor partners, data processing obtained from proprietary statistical and ML models, and uniform data storage using a proprietary core framework. Additionally, they have designed and implemented company infrastructure in cloud-based AWS utilizing a secure VPN, segregated VPCs, shared file storage with automated backup and version control and recovery, and an internal Git repository for version control and development. Web has also engineered bespoke WordPress plugins with PHP for user-rights management, authentication protocols to discourage site-scraping, a pay-walling system to allow for Google indexing with strict measures to avoid content leaking, and client website and email engagement analytics. Lastly, they created a REST API through Node.js, allowing subscribed clients programmatic access to our datasets.

Web Begole graduated from New School University with an MFA in Directing from the New School for Drama in 2009. They also have a degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in Theatre, Photography, Computer Science, and Philosophy from 2006. They attended St. Christopher's School from 1998-2002 and graduated with high honors. They also have an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The team that Web Begole works in is small, and they have a few colleagues. Alex Etra is a senior strategist, Kaye Gentle is a global client relationship manager, and Grant Wilson is the head of Asia Pacific. Wouter Schmit Jongbloed is the head of political risk analysis. The people who report to Web Begole are Seth Balodi, a front end and UX developer, and Ian Flint, a data scientist.
