Vivek Ramavajjala

Vivek Ramavajjala has extensive work experience in the technology industry, starting in 2007 as a summer intern for Yahoo! Vivek later worked as a Senior Analytics Specialist for Opera Solutions from 2008 to 2010, then as a Research Assistant for UC San Diego in 2010. In 2011, they worked at Google as a Software Engineer in Test Intern and later returned to UC San Diego as a Teaching Assistant. From 2012 to 2018, they worked at Google as a Sr. Software Engineer, where they applied semi-supervised learning and deep learning to various products and explored ways of training deep networks with sparse training data and compressing models for on-device computation. From 2018 to 2022, they also worked as a Staff Research Engineer and Tech Lead/Manager in the DeepMind Applied team. Vivek is currently the Founder and CEO of Excarta, which they started in 2022.

Vivek Ramavajjala obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 2008. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at UC San Diego from 2010 to 2012.
