Sara Schlemmer

Sara Schlemmer is an experienced designer currently holding the position of Designer 2 at Excel Engineering, Inc. since June 2021, after previously serving as Designer 1. Prior to this role, Sara held positions as Controls Sub-Team Captain with Chem-E-Car at Virginia Tech and as a Process Engineering Co-op at Dennis Group. Additional experience includes internships at Dominion Energy as a Pipeline Integrity Intern and Field Engineering Intern, as well as a drafting and records intern position at Dominion Energy. Sara has also contributed as a Controls Sub-Team Captain for Chem-E-Car at Virginia Tech and served as the Technical Lead Swim Coach for the Cascades Rapids Summer Swim Team. Sara earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech between 2016 and 2021.
