Kymyona Burk, Ed.D., is a distinguished education professional with extensive experience in early literacy policy and instruction. Currently serving as a Senior Policy Fellow for Early Literacy at ExcelinEd since February 2020, Kymyona Burk plays a crucial role in assisting state leaders to develop and enhance K-3 reading policies. With previous positions including Policy Director for Early Education at ExcelinEd, State Literacy Director at the Mississippi Department of Education, and various roles in Jackson Public Schools and Jackson State University, Kymyona Burk has a robust background in literacy development, coaching, and education training. Kymyona Burk holds a Doctor of Education in Early Childhood Education with a Reading Concentration and an Education Specialist degree in Secondary Education/English from Jackson State University.
