Garrett Metz

Garrett Metz currently serves as the Process Engineering Manager at Excelitas Technologies Corp., where leadership is provided to the Process Engineering Team focused on improving processes for the manufacture of optical components, subassemblies, and modules. Responsibilities include directing continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing yields, reducing variability, and increasing equipment uptime. Previously, Garrett held the position of Thin Film Process Engineer III at Excelitas, where design and development of thin film coatings were primary tasks, along with leading junior engineers and coordinating with cross-functional teams. Prior experience includes roles as a Thin Film Coating Engineer at ATFilms and various research positions at Colorado State University, including a role focused on thin-film thermoelectric modules and photovoltaic applications. Garrett holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University.
