Ted Tompkins

Ted Tompkins has extensive experience in the field of technology and information management. Ted has held various leadership roles throughout their career, starting in 1988 with the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where they provided project management and technical leadership. Ted then moved on to RWD Technologies, Inc., where they served as the Director of Internet Technologies, leading a team in delivering web-based solutions for Fortune 1000 companies.

In 2000, Ted became the Chief Information Officer for VetCentric, a startup animal health technology and services company. Ted was responsible for developing and implementing IT initiatives, leading strategic relationships, and overseeing the overall IT services architecture. Ted held this position until 2012.

From 2012 to 2016, Ted worked as the Managing Partner at Chesapeake Technologies, LLC, an IT consulting firm. In this role, they led innovative initiatives to support new revenue streams and drive faster time to market for new services. Ted also provided CIO services during the post-acquisition integration phase for a SaaS solution and developed business and IT strategy for a nationwide roll-out of a new business service.

In 2016, Ted joined Excelligence Learning Corp as the Senior Vice President and CIO. Their responsibilities included driving the company's IT and digital strategy, ensuring the right talent and technology investments were in place to drive top-line business growth.

Most recently, in 2020, Ted became part of the CIO Innovation Advisory Network at Lightspeed Venture Partners. Throughout their career, they have displayed expertise in strategic planning, business development, and technology implementation.

Ted Tompkins has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Information Technology from The George Washington University, which they obtained from 1991 to 1993.
