Michael A. Orecchio, MHA, MAITM, BSBME

Michael A. Orecchio has a diverse work experience in the field of health/ information technology. Michael A. currently works as a Project Manager at Excentium, Inc since May 2023. Prior to that, Michael worked at Patriot Strategies, LLC as a Program Manager from April 2022 to October 2022, where they led a team of senior staff in providing cybersecurity and IT expertise. Michael A. effectively communicated with stakeholders and oversaw project delivery. Before this role, they worked as a Cybersecurity Engineer at Patriot Strategies, LLC from October 2019 to March 2021, where they ensured adherence to cybersecurity policies for healthcare facilities. Michael also has experience as a Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the SC Department of Public Safety from December 2015 to August 2016, where they implemented IT best practices and improved information security. Prior to that, they served as a CIO at Moncrief Army Community Hospital from July 2009 to February 2015, where they provided leadership and support for various technical and administrative programs. In 1990, Michael A. Orecchio began their education at Gateway Community College, where they earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Biomedical Technology/Technician in 1992.

From 1992 to 1995, they furthered their education at the University of New Haven, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science.

Continuing their education, Michael A. Orecchio pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Information Technology Management from Webster University, completing the program in 2011.

In 2015, they returned to Webster University to pursue a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Healthcare Administration, which they obtained in 2016.

In addition to their degrees, Michael A. Orecchio has acquired certifications to enhance their professional skills. In June 2021, they obtained the CompTIA Security+ certification from LeaderQuest HQ. Similarly, in May 2021, they earned the CompTIA Network+ certification from the same institution.
