Excess Materials Exchange
Christian van Maaren is the Founder and CEO of Excess Materials Exchange (EME), where efforts focus on connecting buyers and sellers of secondary materials and waste through AI, machine learning, and blockchain, positioning EME as a leader in sustainability and the circular economy. Christian also serves as a Top Innovator with the World Economic Forum's UpLink platform and is a member of the Young Club of Rome, promoting sustainable impact and transformational change. Previous roles include advising on nature restoration with Rewilding Europe, managing projects and initiatives at Shell related to natural infrastructure and sustainability, and participating in various professional networks and challenges aimed at fostering collaboration among young professionals. Christian graduated from Delft University of Technology and holds a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma from Six Sigma Academy & Co.
