Nilan Perera

Nilan Perera is an accomplished music industry professional with extensive experience across various roles since 1979. Currently serving as Executive Director at 'circuit' since 2009, Nilan Perera has established a national music performance network that supports Canadian musicians and audiences in underserved areas. As a Board Director for The Association of Improvising Musicians of Toronto since 2007, Nilan Perera advocates for the improvising music community's visibility and interaction. In addition, Nilan Perera has been a writer/journalist for Exclaim Magazine since 2004, focusing on music reviews and artist profiles. Nilan Perera also serves as CEO of synaptic circus, providing expertise in sound design for live performance. Previous experience includes Program Director at CIUT FM from 1993 to 2002 and graphic artist for Slopp Shirts in the early 1980s. Nilan Perera holds education credentials from Ryerson.
