Mark Buckles serves as Counsel to the Cabinet and Special Counsel at the Executive Office of the Governor since February 2021. Prior to this role, Mark Buckles held positions as Acting General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel at the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity from April 2019 to February 2021. Mark Buckles earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Florida State University College of Law between 1998 and 2001. Additionally, Mark Buckles received a Master of Science in European and International Politics with Distinction from The University of Edinburgh in 1996, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature with a focus on Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis, obtained in 1995.

Office of Trade, Tourism, and Economic Development (OTTED). OTTED provides executive direction and staff support to develop policies and advocate for economic diversification and improvements in Florida’s business climate and infrastructure. Economic development programs are implemented through public/private partnerships for which OTTED provides direct oversight.
