Yamil Hernández is an experienced professional who has held various roles in biotechnology companies and government organizations. Yamil began their career as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves from 2006 to 2016. Yamil then served as the Vice President of Business Development and Project Management at Sigma-Tau Pharmaceuticals from 2003 to 2012. Following this, they worked as the Vice President of Business Development at Cerium Pharmaceuticals from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, Yamil co-founded Trayer Biotherapeutics, focusing on the development of live biotherapeutic medicines. Yamil also served as the Chief Business Officer at ExeGi Pharma, a biotechnology company developing probiotic medical foods. In the future, Yamil plans to run for the Council Member position in the City of Gaithersburg.
Yamil Hernández has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus, which was completed in 2005. Prior to this, Yamil obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree from the same institution in 2004. In 2001, Yamil completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree at the University of Maryland Global Campus. Yamil's education journey began with an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree from Montgomery College in 1997. In addition to these degrees, Yamil has obtained several certifications including Private Aircraft Pilot [Student] certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in 2020, Remote Pilot (UAS) certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in 2019, and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) in 2004.
