Cheryl Watton

Cheryl Watton, MBBCh, MBA has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on patient safety and regulatory affairs. Cheryl currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Global Patient Safety and Regulatory Affairs at Exelixis. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Vice President of Drug Safety at Exelixis from 2020 to 2022. Cheryl also has experience at Allergan, where they worked as the Vice President of Global Safety & Epidemiology from 2009 to 2020. Cheryl has held various leadership positions in other companies such as Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pharmacia, and Roche Pharmaceuticals. Cheryl's expertise lies in driving safety strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting patient safety in the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, they have recently become a member of Chief, a private network aimed at empowering women executives.

Cheryl Watton, MBBCh, MBA, completed their medical degree in Medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand. Cheryl also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Management from the same university. In addition, Cheryl has acquired a certification in the Women's Corporate Board Readiness Program from the Silicon Valley Executive Center in 2022.
