Piet Vervaet

Piet Vervaet has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on drug safety and pharmacovigilance. Piet has held various leadership positions, including Vice President of Pharmacovigilance and Risk Management at Exelixis, Vice President of Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance at Halozyme, ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, and Onyx Pharmaceuticals. Prior to these roles, Vervaet served as a Therapeutic Area Safety Leader at AstraZeneca and Global Safety Officer at Johnson & Johnson. Piet began their career at Janssen, Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson, where they held positions as a Medical Advisor in Global Pharmacovigilance and a Clinical Research Physician.

Piet Vervaet attended Don Bosco High School in Zwijnaarde from 1975 to 1978, where they obtained their high school degree. Afterward, they pursued their medical education at the University of Gent from 1978 to 1986, earning their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
