Ian Wallace

Deputy Head Of Faculty at Exeter College

Ian Wallace began their work experience in 1999 as a Technical Sales Administrator at Selden Masts Ltd. Ian then worked as an Account Executive at ADPR Ltd from 2002 to 2004. In 2005, they became the Ecommerce Manager at Eurobatteries. The following year, they joined Atlantas Marine Limited as the Underwater Sales Manager. From 2007 to 2009, Ian owned and managed a small web design consultancy called Breaking Wave Web Design, where they built over 50 websites and designed bespoke ecommerce systems. Since 2009, Ian has been working at Exeter College, first as an IT and Computing Lecturer, and currently as the Deputy Head of Faculty. At Exeter College, Ian's responsibilities include teaching IT and business courses, supporting staff with teaching and learning, and managing the college's internal virtual learning environment (VLE) based on Moodle.

Ian Wallace has a diverse education history. Ian completed a Certificate Education program at the University of Plymouth from 2009 to 2012, focusing on the field of Education. Prior to that, they obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in E-Business Technology from the University of Gloucestershire from 2004 to 2005. In the earlier years of their education, Ian earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Maritime Studies from Solent University, attending from 1996 to 1999. Ian completed their high school education at Woodroffe School between 1990 and 1997.

In addition to their formal education, Ian also obtained certifications in Developing Excellence in Teaching and Training from Worldskills in November 2021, and as a Microsoft Esports Leader from Microsoft in August 2021.
