Lara S.

Lara S. has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Lara began their career at Paignton Sec as a Centre Coordinator, NVQ Assessor, and College Tutor. Lara worked their way up from assessing work-based learners to managing the center and mentoring trainee assessors. Lara also taught sixth form students employability skills and assisted with marketing and website updates.

Lara then worked at Smart Training and Recruitment as a QCF Training Advisor, assessing learners in commerce and hospitality apprenticeships. Lara successfully maintained candidate motivation and employer engagement, meeting timely completion targets and achieving an OFSTED "Good" rating after re-inspection.

Lara further expanded their expertise at Training for Travel, where they assessed over 60 learners in a range of apprenticeships across London and Southeast England. Lara managed a large caseload and increased progression for learners to meet completion dates. Lara also provided in-house training, supported management with audits and inspections, and delivered functional skills and BTEC knowledge.

Lara subsequently joined The Skills Partnership as a Home Based Tutor, Team Leader, and Diary Manager. Lara assessed learners in various apprenticeships and delivered a newly accredited qualification developed in-house. Lara also managed a team of tutors, monitored diaries, and attended meetings and training sessions.

Lara then worked for Bay Hampers as a joint owner, selling handcrafted items and managing the business with their mother.

Following this, they joined GHQ TRAINING LIMITED as a Business Skills Programme Leader, Lead IQA, and Assessor. Lara assessed level 4 Business Administration Higher Apprenticeships and delivered traineeships and business-specific customer service training courses.

Most recently, Lara is working at Exeter College as a Lecturer/Assessor in Business, Travel & Adventure. Lara is passionate about apprenticeships and delivers level 2 Customer Service and level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeships. Lara was part of a team that contributed to the organization receiving an Outstanding grade from OFSTED.
