Denise Chastain-Knight

Denise Chastain-Knight, P.E., CFSE, CCPSC, is a Senior Functional Safety Engineer at exida LLC, providing expertise in Functional Safety, Alarm Management, and Cyber Security Risk Assessment since January 2015. Denise actively facilitates PHA/HAZOP/LOPA workshops and performs Safety Requirements Specification (SRS) development, SIL verification, and Functional Safety Assessments. As a representative of exida on the CCPS Technical Steering Committee, Denise contributes to important industry projects. Additionally, Denise has been involved with NCEES since 2000 as a committee member developing the Chemical Engineering PE exam. Previously, leadership roles include chairing the AIChE Chemical Engineers Body of Knowledge development team and serving as a project manager at CH2M HILL focusing on process safety. Denise has rich experience in various engineering roles dating back to 1986, complemented by a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
