Bob Luzzi

Bob Luzzi has a diverse work experience in the medical device industry. Bob is currently serving as the Vice President of Research and Development at Eximis Surgical, a company that develops innovative technologies for minimally invasive procedures. Prior to this, they worked as the Vice President of Product Development at Lucira Health, where they focused on revolutionizing at-home diagnostic industry for infectious diseases. Before that, Bob held the position of VP of Product Development and Operations at Bolder Surgical Holdings, where they led a $6MM product development effort. Bob also worked as the VP of R&D at Woven Orthopedic Technologies, managing a $4MM product development effort and creating quality and regulatory strategies. Bob has also served as the President and Founder of Sky Medical Development, providing consulting services to the medical device industry. Bob co-founded DFine, Inc., a venture capital funded minimally invasive spine company, and held the positions of President, VP of R&D, and Co-founder. Additionally, Bob worked as the Innovations Director at J&J/Nitinol Devices and Components, identifying clinical needs and developing intellectual property. Bob also worked at Salient Surgical Technologies, where they served as the Director of Advanced Development and later as the Director of Product Development, leading product development efforts for surgical devices. Bob has extensive experience in leadership roles, product development, and regulatory strategies within the medical device industry.

Bob Luzzi has a strong educational background in engineering and bioengineering. Bob obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Prior to that, they also earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Bioengineering from the same institution. Additionally, Bob Luzzi holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University. In terms of certifications, they are a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute and a New Product Development Professional from the Product Development Management Association. Bob is also a Certified Patent Agent recognized by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
