Matías Olivera

Chief Technology Officer at Exodus

Matías Olivera began their work experience in 2012 as a Consultant at PwC, where they gained IT auditing and consulting experience. Matías then worked as a Web Developer at Sophilabs from 2014 to 2015. In 2015, they joined Replibit LLC as a Software Engineer, and later moved on to Axcient as a Lead Software Engineer from 2016 to 2018.

In 2014, Olivera also started working at GitHub as an Open Source Developer, a role that they still hold. Matías also joined Universidad Católica del Uruguay in 2015 as an Adjunct Professor until 2018, when they became a Professor until 2020.

Olivera's next role was at Exodus, where they worked as a Lead Software Engineer from 2019 to 2021. Matías then progressed to the position of Engineering Manager from 2021 to 2022 before becoming the Director of Engineering for a brief period from March to May 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Technology Officer at Exodus.

In 2023, Olivera will start a role as an ExecsOnDeck Fellow at On Deck. Overall, their work experience encompasses roles in software engineering, web development, open-source development, teaching, and consulting.

Matías Olivera earned a High School Diploma from Colegio y Liceo San Juan Bautista in 2010. Matías then pursued a degree in Computer Engineering at Universidad Católica del Uruguay 'Dámaso Antonio Larranaga' from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, they obtained the First Certificate in English from the University of Cambridge in 2010.
