Sudhir Rao

Sudhir Rao currently serves as Senior Vice President of Business Development at Expansion Therapeutics, a position held since January 2022. Prior to this role, Sudhir contributed as Vice President of Business Development at Genocea from July 2018 to January 2022, and as Director of R&D Transactions at Takeda from August 2015 to July 2018. Sudhir's earlier experience includes serving as Director of In-Licensing and External R&D at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, where responsibilities encompassed leading cross-functional assessments of in-licensing opportunities and negotiating licensing agreements. Sudhir began their career in research at Merck, focusing on oncology, and has held various positions in academic and biopharmaceutical research, including Senior Scientist II at UCB Research and Research Scientist at the University of Massachusetts Cancer Center. Sudhir holds an MBA from the Questrom School of Business, Boston University, as well as an M.S. in Epidemiology/Virology and a B.A. in Biochemistry, both from the University of Virginia.
