Zach Blaine

Zach Blaine, CPA, has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting roles. Zach started their career at BDO USA, LLP as an Assurance Senior Associate, where they gained experience in audit strategy, financial statement analysis, and SOX compliance. Zach then moved on to FireEye, Inc. as a Manager of Revenue, where they managed a team responsible for accurately reporting revenue for a publicly traded company.

Afterwards, Zach joined StayNTouch, a Shiji Group Brand, as an Assistant Controller and later became the Controller. In these roles, they developed the finance and accounting organization from a simple bookkeeping cost center to a value-add source of financial intelligence. Zach implemented a cloud ERP system and established processes and workflows in various accounting areas.

Zach then took a sabbatical and engaged in international travel before joining Expel as a Corporate Controller. At Expel, their responsibilities included supporting fundraise activities, establishing and developing the accounting team, and optimizing order-to-cash processes. Zach also led international expansion initiatives and directed budget and re-forecast exercises.

Throughout their career, Zach has demonstrated their ability to lead teams, manage financial operations, and implement financial systems and processes.

Zach Blaine, CPA holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Maryland. Zach has also obtained additional certifications, including the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation from the AICPA in 2011 and the Greater Washington Finance Leadership Program from Deloitte in 2021.
