Julanda Marais

Julanda Marais has extensive work experience in the spa and wellness industry. Their most recent role is as a Senior Lead Spa and Wellness at Explora Journeys, starting in February 2022. Prior to that, they worked for Jumeirah Group / Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts as a Regional Spa Director from July 2018 to January 2022, where they oversaw multiple spa operations and pre-openings in various locations.

Before joining Jumeirah Group, Julanda worked at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts for several years. Julanda served as the Senior Spa Director for the Middle East & Africa region from September 2014 to June 2018. In this role, they provided support, training, and operational reviews for nine spas in the region. Julanda also held positions as a Spa Director and Pre-Opening Assistant Spa Director, assisting with spa pre-openings and developing branded protocols.

Julanda's work experience also includes roles as a Spa Therapist at The World of Residensea from January 2002 to August 2005, as a Head Therapist at Holmes Place Health Clubs Saldanha from June 2000 to December 2001, as a Regional Trainer and Representative at RVB from March 1999 to June 2000, and as a Spa Therapist onboard Crystal Cruises with Steiner Transocean from January 1998 to January 1999.

Julanda Marais obtained a Diploma in Health, Skincare, and Wellness International Qualification from the Isa Carstens Academy in Stellenbosch, South Africa, where they studied from 1996 to 1998.
