Laurie Lynn Alderson Smith

Laurie Lynn Alderson Smith is a seasoned professional with extensive experience at Explore Charleston since July 1995, currently serving as Chief of Staff, where responsibilities include ensuring effective communication and strategy implementation across the organization. Previous roles at Explore Charleston include Chief Operating Officer, where oversight of daily operations and budget management was key, as well as Director of Administration & Finance, Manager of Travel Council Programs, and Executive Department Assistant. Laurie served as a Board Member for MUSC Children's Hospital Fund from 2011 to 2014. Educational qualifications include a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Citadel and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration with a Marketing emphasis from the College of Charleston.
