Kat Deaner

Professional Development at Explorer At Large

Kat Deaner comes to Explorer At Large through our Instructional Unit Design Partner, the PAST Foundation. Kat brings extensive experience teaching middle school and high school science, social studies, and health to her work with Explorer At Large's Professional Development and Training. Her enthusiasm and commitment to education are contagious! Kat works directly with teachers who want to develop TPBL skills with a focus on STEAM.

Kat received a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She went on to earn Masters of Science in Horticulture & Crop Science and a Masters of Education in Agricultural Education & Extension at The Ohio State University. While at OSU, Kat was a Battelle Scholar and Field Director for PAST’s Growing America Bridge Program, collaborating on the Grow America Activity Book.
