João Falcato

João Falcato currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Culture and Education at Expo City Dubai since November 2023. Falcato has extensive experience in leadership roles, including special advisor to the Board of Directors and Executive Board Member at Oceano Azul Foundation since December 2016, and has held positions such as Council Member and Administrator at Fundação do Gil. Previously, Falcato was President of the EUAC from November 2014 to October 2023 and CEO of Oceanário de Lisboa S.A. from March 2006 to October 2023. Falcato has also contributed to the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria as the Aquarium Committee Chair and Executive Committee Member from October 2013 to September 2023 and served on the board of Associação Portuguesa de Zoos e Aquários from November 2006 to September 2023. Academic qualifications include a degree from Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar and further studies in Management at Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
