Sam Ormiston

Sam Ormiston is an experienced journalist with a diverse background in news reporting and editorial roles. Currently serving as Assistant News Editor at the Daily Express since August 2023, Sam previously held various positions at MyLondon, including Acting Head of Content and Senior Reporter. Prior to that, experience includes reporting at The Bolton News and multimedia reporting for Newsquest, where local news coverage was a focus. Sam's early journalism career began at Brig Newspaper, where leadership as News Editor and Sports Editor was demonstrated. Educational qualifications include a Ba (Hons) in Journalism Studies, Politics, and Spanish from the University of Stirling and NCTJ training at News Associates. Sam has also contributed as a Personal Learning Assistant and Media Officer at the University of Stirling Students' Union. Additionally, selected as a Future News Worldwide Delegate in 2019, Sam has showcased a commitment to professional development in the media field.
