James E. Houlihan III

Mr. Houlihan has been helping to build businesses for more than 25 years through people, strategic development, and the application of technology. He has worked with more than 30 company boards of directors providing guidance and expertise on overall strategy, business development, CEO mentoring, acquisition programs, organizational development, and executive search coordination, and capital structure.

Mr. Houlihan has worked with companies across stages of maturity from pre-revenue start-ups to profitable growth stage businesses. He has experience with numerous industries including healthcare products, services and technology, wireless, software, Internet applications, information technology, distribution and business services.

Mr. Houlihan began his career with Boston Capital Ventures (BCV) a venture capital and growth equity partnership based in Boston. His work at BCV focused primarily on healthcare, software, and business services. Mr. Houlihan came to Southern California in 1994 as a Co-Founder of InnoCal, a multi-stage private investment firm based in Costa Mesa that managed more than $175 million in committed capital.

Currently, Mr. Houlihan serves as an independent director for early-stage companies and works with Harvey & Company a leading buy-side advisory firm that conducts strategic acquisition searches for private equity funds and corporations where he leads the technology practice as well as the firm’s co-investment program.

Mr. Houlihan received a BA in Political Science from Middlebury College and an MBA in Finance from the Boston University School of Management.
