David Thompson

David Thompson is an experienced professional specializing in Information Management and Building Information Modeling (BIM). Currently serving as the Information Management Lead-Americas at GHD since July 2024, David leads strategic implementation across the region. David has also been a Program Advisory Committee Member for the BIM Management Certificate program at the University of Manitoba since December 2021. Previously, David held the position of Senior Consultant at Turner & Townsend from January 2020 to June 2024 and served as a BIM Consultant for the University of Manitoba. David's role as Virtual Design & Construction Manager at PCL Construction from August 2016 to December 2019 involved training and educating industry stakeholders on BIM processes. Additionally, David founded the Winnipeg BIM Community and held positions as Affiliate Lead for buildingSMART Canada and Lead Digital Engineer at Laing O'Rourke, focusing on BIM strategy implementation in the Middle East.
