Jim Thorson

Jim Thorson has worked in a number of roles since 2007. Jim was the Managing Member of Catamount Exploration, LLC and Catamount Resources, LLC from 2007 to 2011. During this time, they were responsible for Oil & Gas Play and Prospect Generation, from the deepwater Gulf of Mexico to the Eastern Colorado plains to the Alaska North Slope. From 2011 to 2014, they were the Managing Member of Pronghorn Operating, LLC, where they were a founding partner in one of the most active operators in eastern Colorado. Jim also served as a Director of PetroDE from 2014 to 2019. From 2019 to 2022, Jim Thorson was a Director of Exum Instruments, ENGAGE, and cQuant.io, and an Observer at cQuant.io. Additionally, they were a Principal at Free Radical Ventures, LLC from 2013 to 2019, where they provided seed investment, advisory, and mentorship for select Early Stage opportunities.

Jim Thorson received a Bachelor of Science in Geophysical Engineering with a minor in Geology from the Colorado School of Mines. Jim also completed the Energy Fellows Institute in 2019.
