Joe Christenbury MD, FACS is a partner at Eye Consultants of Atlanta since July 2017, specializing as a cataract, refractive, and corneal surgeon. Previous experience includes serving as an ophthalmology resident at UCLA Health from July 2014 to June 2017 and completing an internal medicine preliminary internship at Beth Israel Medical Center from July 2013 to June 2014. Prior research roles include work as a research assistant at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore, focusing on dengue virus genomes, and at Duke Eye Center, where investigations centered on cellular signaling proteins related to cataract formation. Joe Christenbury earned an M.D. from Duke University School of Medicine (2009-2013) and a B.S. in Biology with Distinction from Duke University (2004-2008), following early education at Charlotte Country Day School.
