Syed Altaf

Syed Altaf is currently serving as the VP of R&D and Scientific Innovation at EyePoint Pharmaceuticals since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Director and Head of Formulation Development at Evelo Biosciences from November 2018 to January 2022. From March 2014 to November 2018, Syed Altaf held the position of Director at Agios Pharmaceuticals. Before that, they worked as a Senior Director at OSI Pharmaceuticals, LLC / Astellas Pharma from September 2005 to August 2013. Syed Altaf's career in the pharmaceutical industry began at Gilead Sciences, where they worked as a Senior Research Scientist I from September 1997 to August 2005. Syed started their professional journey as a Scientist at CIBUS Pharmaceuticals from May 1995 to August 1997.

Syed Altaf obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Oregon State University, from 1989 to 1995.
