Kenneth Funes Mora has a diverse work experience. In 2006, they were a Research Assistant at the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica. In 2007, they were a Design Engineer at Canam Technology Inc. In 2009, they were a Research Intern at the Universitat de Girona. In 2010, they were a Research Intern at INRIA. From 2011 to 2016, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher and Research Assistant, PhD student at the Idiap Research Institute, where they developed diverse techniques for 3D gaze tracking using consumer RGB-D sensors. Kenneth also addressed the challenges of low-resolution and appearance variations due to head pose, user and sensing conditions, as well as higher-level problems in human-robot interaction, human computer interaction, sociology and psychology studies. Since 2016, they have been the CEO and Co-founder of Eyeware.
Kenneth Funes Mora obtained a License in Electronics Engineering from Tecnológico de Costa Rica in 2003-2008. Kenneth then completed a Masters in Computer Vision and Robotics from Universitat de Girona, Heriot-Watt University, and Université de Bourgogne in 2008-2010. In 2011-2014, they obtained a PhD in Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, and Statistical Modeling from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). In 2018, they also obtained the Innosuisse Business Growth Advanced Engineering certification from Venturelab.
