Ravi Ravindran

Ravi (Shankar) Ravindran, Ph.D., has a comprehensive work experience in the telecommunications and technology industry. Ravi(shankar) currently serves as the Chief Architect at F5, where they lead the design and architecture of the company's orchestration and cloud platforms for 5G Open vRAN. Prior to that, they held the position of Chief Architect at Corning Incorporated (SpiderCloud Wireless), where they focused on developing small cell products for 5G and vRAN.

Ravindran also has experience as the Chief Architect at STL - Sterlite Technologies Limited/Access Solutions, where they led the architecture of a virtualized RAN system for 5G and contributed to standards participation in ORAN/TIP. Ravi(shankar) has also worked at Futurewei Technologies, Inc. as a Lab Leader and Principal Researcher, focusing on content distribution and next-generation internet architecture.

Earlier in their career, Ravindran worked at Avaya and Nortel as a Senior Software Engineer, providing advanced consultation services to enterprise customers. Ravi(shankar) also served as a Research/Software Engineer at Nortel, working on various wireless systems, IP/MPLS systems, and control plane design.

Ravindran began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Oklahoma, where they conducted research in the field.

Ravi Ravindran, Ph.D. completed their education at various prestigious institutions. Ravi(shankar) earned their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Sri Venkateswara University in 1998. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science at the University of Oklahoma from 1998 to 2000. Ravi later attained their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University between 2004 and 2009, specializing in the Department of System and Computer Engineering.
