Richard Burge is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the fields of economic and social research, governance, and environmental, societal, and governance (ESG) assessment. As the Senior Partner and Founder of ESG Validation Ltd. since May 2019, Richard Burge provides independent assessments and validations of ESG claims for the investment community, while maintaining a neutral stance without supporting corporations directly. Richard Burge serves in various prominent roles, including Governor at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, Junior Warden at the Worshipful Company of World Traders, Chair of the College Council at Hatfield College, and Church Warden at the Parish of Kirdford with Plaistow and Ifold. Additionally, Richard Burge holds advisory positions in multiple organizations and has a strong educational background with degrees and research from institutions including Durham University, the University of Cambridge, and the University of Peradeniya.
