Paula Little

Lead Sr. Information Architect & Taxonomist at Factor

Paula Little has a diverse career trajectory in information management, with various roles in archiving and records management since 2006. Paula started working as an archivist at the Computer History Museum in 2006, followed by a role as archivist for the National Archives of Ireland from 2007-2008. From 2010-2012, they worked as a processing archivist for the State of Washington, responsible for the arrangement, processing, and description of state and local governmental materials. Paula also worked as a project archivist at the University of Washington Special Collections in 2011, where they organized a collection from the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies.

Little has extensive experience in evaluation, process improvement, and electronic records lifecycle management, having worked in various roles at UW Medicine from 2012-2016. Paula was responsible for conducting training, presentations, and consultations on records management principles, and managed records lifecycle and data projects, including the successful deployment of a new records management system. From 2016-2021, they worked as a senior business analyst in electronic records for Sound Transit, providing requirements gathering for various document and information systems utilized by Records Management, and leading the RM team in participation in the agency migration work. Most recently, Little worked as an information architect and taxonomist at Factor and Factor Firm, starting in 2021 and 2022 respectively, where they helped develop information architecture and taxonomy for clients.

Paula Little has a B.A. in History from the University of Colorado Boulder, which they received in 1995. Paula then went on to study English Local History at the University of Oxford from 2002-2003. In 2004, they completed their MLIS in Archival Studies & Information Systems from San Jose State University, and later earned their certificate in Genealogy & Family History from the University of Washington in 2011. Paula obtained a Digital Archives Specialist (DAS) degree in Digital Preservation from the Society of American Archivists in 2015. Additionally, they received certifications in Business Process Management Specialist from AIIM International, and another DAS certification from the Society of American Archivists.
