Morgan Defoort

Morgan DeFoort is a seasoned professional in the energy and technology sectors, currently serving as Managing Partner at Factor[e] Ventures since June 2013, and as Partner at Equator since March 2020, focusing on early-stage ventures in Sub-Saharan Africa. Additionally, Morgan holds board member positions at SENTRY and 60Hertz Energy, with prior board roles at Odyssey Energy Solutions, HOMER Energy, and Waste Enterprisers Holding/Pivot Ltd. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, along with participation in the Green Technology Entrepreneurship Academy at the University of California, Davis, and a BA in Physics from Hastings College. Morgan's experience also includes independent contracting with The World Bank, specifically assessing biomass cookstove manufacturing capabilities in Africa.
