Marcos Kyung has three years of work experience in the technology field. In 2018, they worked as a Database Administrator at the Legislatura de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. During this time, they designed and developed an inventory management application in SQL Server used to inventory the legislature’s IT equipment and manage service and new equipment requests. Marcos also built a new SQL Server database to replace an underperforming legacy database connected to an upgraded Intranet system. In 2020, they worked as a Data Engineer at Baufest. During this time, they automated data pipeline generation using Snowflake scripts and config tables, created view and config/log tables to address and improve visibility of errors and issues in pipelines, and provided some self-service features for users. Currently, they are employed as a Data Engineer at Factored, where they are automating reporting using AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, AWS Step Functions, and Docker with Serverless deployment. Marcos is also designing and implementing a layered data lake using AWS S3 and the AWS Glue data catalog.
Marcos Kyung has a diverse educational background. In 2021, they completed a Nanodegree in Data Engineering from Udacity. Prior to that, they completed a Nanodegree in Data Analysis from Udacity in 2018-2019 and a Nanodegree in Data Foundations from Udacity in 2017-2018. Marcos also holds several certifications, including Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) obtained in 2022, Astronomer Certification DAG Authoring for Apache Airflow and Astronomer Certification for Apache Airflow Fundamentals from Astronomer both obtained in 2022, Korean Language and Culture Program from Seoul National University obtained in 2013, Proficiency General English Program from Kaplan International Center obtained in 2013, and American Language Program from Columbia University in the City of New York obtained in 2013.
