Zhangxing Shi

Zhangxing Shi is a Senior Staff Scientist at Factorial Energy since June 2022, having previously held positions as Staff Scientist and Senior Scientist. Prior to Factorial Energy, Zhangxing Shi worked as a Postdoctoral Appointee at Argonne National Laboratory from November 2018 to June 2022, focusing on the design and synthesis of polymeric binders for silicon anodes and various electrolyte solvents for lithium-ion and lithium metal batteries. Zhangxing Shi also served as a Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder from August 2013 to September 2018, where research included the synthesis of polymerizable ionic liquids and participation in multiple Department of Energy projects. Zhangxing Shi began professional work as a Research Technician at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica from August 2010 to August 2012, contributing to drug discovery projects. Zhangxing Shi holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry from the University of Colorado Boulder and a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Fudan University.
