Gonzalo A. Lorenzo Idiarte

Gonzalo A. Lorenzo Idiarte is a distinguished legal professional and academic specializing in Private International Law. Since July 2019, Gonzalo serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Universidad de la República and the Director of the Uruguayan Institute of Private International Law within the same faculty. Gonzalo has held the position of Partner at Scelza & Montano since February 1987 and provides external corporate legal counsel for NODUS. Additionally, Gonzalo has been a Board Member and lawyer for Julio Berkes S.A. since 1994, and has taught as a Full Professor of Private International Law at various institutions, including Universidad de Montevideo and Universidad de la República. Educational credentials include a Doctorate in Law from Universität Bremen and multiple degrees in Law from Universidad de la República.
