Philippe Lebaron

VP, Economic Partnerships at Sorbonne Université

Philippe Lebaron is a Professor of Microbiology and Marine Ecology at the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Sorbonne University. His research field mainly covers ecology and microbial biotechnologies. He has coordinated and participated in many European research projects in this field. He has years of experience of public-private partnerships: he chaired the ANR LabCom programme until 2018 for the creation of joint public-private laboratories.

He was head of the Oceanological Observatory of Banyuls-sur-mer between 2005 and 2015 and played a major role in the creation and coordination of the Parliament of the Sea in the Occitan Region.
