Øistein Thorsen

Øistein Thorsen has extensive work experience in various roles within the agricultural and food industries. Øistein is currently the CEO of FAI Farms, a purpose-driven company committed to providing solutions to climate and food security. At FAI Farms, Øistein leads a multi-disciplinary team in partnership with major food brands to create a high welfare and regenerative food system. Prior to their role as CEO, Øistein served as a Director at FAI Farms and Benchmark Holdings plc, where they worked to improve the sustainability of the food chain through research, advisory, and data services. Øistein also has experience with Oxfam, where they worked as a campaigner and deputy campaigns manager, focusing on issues such as fair trade, access to medicines, and global trade rules. Øistein's early work experience includes a role as a Link Programme Coordinator at VSO.

Øistein Thorsen obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in African Studies and Development Studies from SOAS University of London. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in International Political Economy from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
